My Little Pony Hearth's Warming Eve (BP04) Guide: Card List, Chase Cards & Presents
Share
Somebody at Kayou has clearly been putting the tinsel up early.
Hearth's Warming Eve is the fourth booster set for the playable My Little Pony TCG and it is the coziest one yet. Twilight's building a snowpony. Applejack is lassoing presents. Pinkie Pie is balancing on a tower of gifts, because of course she is. Rainbow Dash's parents have brought out the baby photos. And Fluttershy invited Discord to Hearth's Warming dinner, which is the most Fluttershy thing that has ever happened.
This is our complete guide to My Little Pony Hearth's Warming Eve (BP04): the full card list by rarity, every chase card and how Presents work. A Hearth's Warming Eve booster box gets you 20 packs, or you can start with a single Hearth's Warming Eve booster pack.
If you've opened Fantasy Wonderland (BP01), Discord (BP02) or Nightmare Night (BP03), you'll feel right at home. Same box, same five Shining (※) chase tiers. The big new thing is Presents.
Inside the box
- 20 packs, 5 cards each, so 100 cards to rip
- 197 different cards to collect over 14 rarities, including six Present token cards
- English cards, all numbered BP04
- Released 30 October 2026

Spotting a Shining card
See a ※ before the card number? That's a Shining: brand-new artwork, a fancier finish and, on most of them, the artist's signature. The sneaky part is that it shares its number with the regular version, so ※BP04-CR05 Rainbow Dash and BP04-CR05 Rainbow Dash are two separate cards with two different pictures. Check for the symbol before you sleeve it with the bulk (ask us how we know).
Hearth's Warming Eve has 47 Shining cards across five tiers, one more than Nightmare Night.
Every rarity in the set
| Rarity | How many | Who's in it |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 48 | 24 character cards plus 24 story cards |
| Uncommon | 18 | The Mane Six, all six of their pets, plus Spike, Trixie, Granny Smith, Big McIntosh, Spitfire and Lightning Dust |
| Silver Rare | 14 | The Mane Six, plus Spike, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, Trixie and Spitfire |
| Sapphire Rare | 28 | Events and Items |
| Emerald Rare | 6 | Hearth's Warming scenes: the show stage, backstage and the Present scenes |
| Gold Rare | 12 | The Mane Six plus the six Pillars of Old Equestria |
| Colorful Rare | 12 | The Mane Six, two each |
| Ruby Rare | 6 | The Mane Six |
| Token | 6 | One Present for each of the Mane Six |
The Shining chase tiers
| Tier | Cards | Who's in it |
|---|---|---|
| ※ Shining Ruby Rare | 6 | The Mane Six |
| ※ Shining Colorful Rare | 12 | The Mane Six, two each |
| ※ Shining Gold Rare | 6 | The Pillars of Old Equestria |
| ※ Shining Emerald Rare | 12 | All six scenes, Day and Night versions |
| ※ Shining Sapphire Rare | 11 | Seven Events plus four Items |
※ Shining Ruby Rare, the grail
Six cards, one for each of the Mane Six and the rarest tier in the set. No game text, just full artwork in an ornate gold frame and the artist's signature.
These are the gift-wrapping cards and they are adorable. Twilight puts the star on top of the tree while Spike watches on. Fluttershy wears a knitted jumper surrounded by snow globes and Angel. Pinkie Pie has got herself completely tangled in the fairy lights. Applejack is in an apple-print jumper with Granny Smith knitting behind her. Rainbow Dash is wrapping a pair of goggles and Rarity is picking out jewellery in a fur-trimmed coat.
- ※BP04-RR01 Twilight Sparkle
- ※BP04-RR02 Fluttershy
- ※BP04-RR03 Pinkie Pie
- ※BP04-RR04 Applejack
- ※BP04-RR05 Rainbow Dash
- ※BP04-RR06 Rarity

The six Shining Ruby Rares, ※BP04-RR01 to RR06.
The regular Ruby Rares (BP04-RR01 to RR06) take the party outside: snowball fights, a snowpony in a Santa hat and presents absolutely everywhere.

The six regular Ruby Rares, BP04-RR01 to RR06.
※ Shining Gold Rare and why this one's different
Here's the twist. BP01 and BP02 gave the Shining Gold Rares to the Mane Six. Nightmare Night handed them to the royals and legends. Hearth's Warming Eve goes all in on legends: the whole tier is the Pillars of Old Equestria, all six of them. Fitting for a holiday that's all about how Equestria began.
- ※BP04-GR07 Star Swirl the Bearded
- ※BP04-GR08 Mistmane
- ※BP04-GR09 Rockhoof
- ※BP04-GR10 Flash Magnus
- ※BP04-GR11 Somnambula
- ※BP04-GR12 Mage Meadowbrook
The regular Pillars are mid-battle. The Shining versions show each legend in their element instead, most of them signed by the artist. Star Swirl is buried in books in his study. Mistmane strolls through a village street. Rockhoof stands proud with his shovel against a glowing volcano. Flash Magnus faces down a fire-breathing dragon, shield up. Somnambula takes a flying leap through the clouds and Mage Meadowbrook holds up one of her healing potions.

The six Shining Gold Rares, ※BP04-GR07 to GR12.
If BP04 follows the earlier sets, every sealed box has one Shining Gold Rare locked in, and this time there are six to collect. Star Swirl is now on his second Shining Gold Rare in a row. The regular Pillars cards are further down, in the Gold Rares section.
※ Shining Colorful Rare
Twelve cards, two for each of the Mane Six, in two very different moods.
CR01 to CR06: family dinner. Every one of these is a Hearth's Warming dinner with the family. Twilight is at the table with Spike, Shining Armor and Cadance. Fluttershy has Discord round for dessert. Pinkie Pie is serving cake to the Pie family with Gummy in tow. Applejack has Apple Bloom, Big Mac and Granny Smith. Rainbow Dash is blushing while her parents show off the photo album, and Rarity is sharing a meal with Sweetie Belle and their parents.
- ※BP04-CR01 Twilight Sparkle
- ※BP04-CR02 Fluttershy
- ※BP04-CR03 Pinkie Pie
- ※BP04-CR04 Applejack
- ※BP04-CR05 Rainbow Dash
- ※BP04-CR06 Rarity

Shining Colorful Rares ※BP04-CR01 to CR06.
CR07 to CR12: the Hearth's Warming pageant. The Mane Six on stage in their pageant costumes from the founding of Equestria story. Twilight as Clover the Clever, Fluttershy as Private Pansy, Pinkie Pie as Chancellor Puddinghead, Applejack as Smart Cookie, Rainbow Dash as Commander Hurricane and Rarity as Princess Platinum, flowers and all.
- ※BP04-CR07 Twilight Sparkle
- ※BP04-CR08 Fluttershy

※ Shining Emerald Rare
BP04 has six scene cards and every one of them gets a Shining version:
- BP04-ER01 Hearth's Warming Eve Show Stage
- BP04-ER02 Hearth's Warming Eve Show Backstage
- BP04-ER03 Unicorns' Hearth's Warming Eve Present
- BP04-ER04 Earth Ponies' Hearth's Warming Eve Present
- BP04-ER05 Pegasi's Hearth's Warming Eve Present
- BP04-ER06 Unwrap the Hearth's Warming Eve Present
The Show Stage and Backstage are Everyday Scenes that give your Hearth's Warming Eve character +1 Inspiration until the end of the Contact. The other four are the clever ones. You can turn them face down in your Main Phase to use their Explore effect, so they double as Present delivery:
- Unicorns' Present gives a character +1 Inspiration and Twilight Sparkle's or Rarity's Present.
- Earth Ponies' Present gives a character +1 Inspiration and Pinkie Pie's or Applejack's Present.
- Pegasi's Present gives a character +1 Inspiration and Fluttershy's or Rainbow Dash's Present.
- Unwrap the Present gives a character that's had a Present +1 Inspiration, then unwraps a Present on it.

※BP04-ER01 to ER03, Day and Night.

※BP04-ER04 to ER06, Day and Night.
Just like the earlier sets, every Shining scene comes in a Day and a Night version. That's 12 Shining Emerald Rares in total. The three tribe Presents (Unicorn, Earth Pony and Pegasus) make a lovely little trio if you can line them up in the same version, and look closely: the ponies are tucked into the corner of each one. Set builders, good luck. We're rooting for you.

- ※BP04-SPR09 Baking Lesson
- ※BP04-SPR11 Muted

Items:
- ※BP04-SPR25 Holder's Boulder

- ※BP04-SPR27 Magic Emblem
- ※BP04-SPR28 Rarity's Tent

Shining Sapphire Rare Events.

One more Shining Sapphire Rare Event, plus the four Shining Items.
The standout Event is The Birth of Equestria. If you've got a Unicorn, a Pegasus and an Earth Pony in your Adventure Area at once, every character there gets +6 Inspiration until the end of turn. The three tribes together, just like the story.
Our sleeper pick is Holder's Boulder. It can only be attached to a Hearth's Warming Eve character, and once it is, every character in your Adventure Area that has had a Present gets +2 Inspiration. It's the Pie family's Hearth's Warming tradition and it turns the whole Present engine up a notch.
The Gold Rares
Twelve cards: the Mane Six on a snow day (GR01 to GR06) and the six Pillars of Old Equestria (GR07 to GR12).
The snow day ponies are all about drawing and digging through your deck:
- BP04-GR01 Twilight Sparkle. Tap and send a Plan from your Story Area to the Retirement Area to retire one of your opponent's characters.
- BP04-GR02 Fluttershy. Draws and discards a card when she appears. Discard a Fluttershy or a Pet and she gets +4 Inspiration.
- BP04-GR03 Pinkie Pie. Untaps whenever you Adorn her with an Item from your hand, and can tap to draw and discard.
- BP04-GR04 Applejack. Taps to flip up a face-down Scene in both your Scene Area and your opponent's.
- BP04-GR05 Rainbow Dash. Gets +1 Inspiration every time a character retires in Contact.
- BP04-GR06 Rarity. Discard up to two cards when she appears and draw one for each.

Gold Rares BP04-GR01 to GR06.
The Pillars are where the fun is:
- BP04-GR07 Star Swirl the Bearded. Each time you add an Event to your hand from the Retirement Area, one of your characters gets +2 Inspiration.
- BP04-GR08 Mistmane. Taps to give every other character in your Adventure Area +2 Inspiration, taking −2 herself. A true team player.
- BP04-GR09 Rockhoof. Gets +5 Inspiration while he's Adorned with an Item. The biggest flat boost in the set.
- BP04-GR10 Flash Magnus. Draws you a card whenever one of your characters Moves or Switches Positions, and can tap to switch places himself.
- BP04-GR11 Somnambula. Makes your opponent reveal a card from their hand. Discard one of the same type and she gets +4 Inspiration.
- BP04-GR12 Mage Meadowbrook. If another of your characters would retire in Contact, it goes back to your hand instead. Our favourite card in the tier.

Gold Rares BP04-GR07 to GR12, the Pillars of Old Equestria.
Curtain up: the Hearth's Warming pageant
The regular Colorful Rares CR07 to CR12 drop the pageant cast right into the story they're acting out. Clover the Clever, Private Pansy, Chancellor Puddinghead, Smart Cookie, Commander Hurricane and Princess Platinum, battling the blizzard on the way to founding Equestria. The Shining versions put them back on stage, so collecting both is like getting the show and the story it tells.

Presents, explained
Here's the fun bit. Hearth's Warming Eve brings in Presents. There's a Present token card for each of the Mane Six (Twilight Sparkle's Present, Fluttershy's Present and so on) and they turn up in packs in place of a Common. Cards with Deliver Present put a Present on a character. Cards with Unwrap Present open one: you trigger the Present's effect, then remove it. You don't even need a card to open them. At the start of each turn you can unwrap any Present yourself.
What's inside each Present
- Twilight Sparkle's Present. Look at the top two cards of your deck, keep one and put the other on the bottom.
- Fluttershy's Present. Bring back a character with a Force of Harmony cost of 3 or less from your Retirement Area to your hand.
- Pinkie Pie's Present. The character holding it gets +1 Inspiration until the end of turn.
- Applejack's Present. The character holding it can tap to untap one of your Scenes this turn.
- Rainbow Dash's Present. You can move the character holding it to an empty Slot in your Adventure Area.
- Rarity's Present. One of your opponent's characters gets −1 Inspiration until the end of turn. Pair it with Rarity CR12, who gets stronger every time that happens.

The six Present token cards.
Giving Presents
- When Twilight Sparkle (BP04-CR01) or Rarity (BP04-CR12) appears, she puts her Present on every character in your Adventure Area.
- Fluttershy (BP04-CR02) puts her Present on every character you play from your hand while she's out.
- Pinkie Pie (BP04-CR03) puts her Present on a character whenever you Adorn it with an Item from your hand.
- Twilight Sparkle (BP04-CR07) gives one of your characters +3 Inspiration and a Present, and can do it again as a Pre-plan.
- Applejack (BP04-CR10) gives a Present to one of your opponent's characters that doesn't have one, then flips and untaps one of your Scenes. Very generous. Very Applejack.
- Pinkie Pie (BP04-CR09) passes her Present on to a friend when she leaves, with a Farewell ability.
- The Unicorns', Earth Ponies' and Pegasi's Present scenes (ER03 to ER05) hand them out too.
Unwrapping Presents
- Twilight Sparkle (BP04-CR01) taps to unwrap any Present in your Adventure Area.
- Fluttershy (BP04-CR08) taps and discards a card to give one of your characters +2 Inspiration and unwrap a Present on it.
- Rainbow Dash (BP04-CR11) taps to get +3 Inspiration and unwrap her own Present, as long as you have an empty Slot in your Adventure Area.
Getting paid for it
- Fluttershy (BP04-CR02) gets +1 Inspiration every time any Present in your Adventure Area is unwrapped.
- When the Present on Pinkie Pie (BP04-CR03) is unwrapped, one of your characters gets +1 Inspiration.
- When the Present on Rainbow Dash (BP04-CR05) is unwrapped, she gets +2 Inspiration.
- Build a Snowpony (BP04-SPR02) gives a character that's had a Present +3 Inspiration, and Holder's Boulder (BP04-SPR25) gives every one of them +2.

Colorful Rares BP04-CR01 to CR06, home to most of the Present abilities.
Rarity (BP04-CR06) is the odd one out. She doesn't touch Presents at all. Instead she mills the top two cards of your deck and fetches a Hearth's Warming Eve card from your Retirement Area back to your hand.
Six brand-new stories
Like Nightmare Night, Hearth's Warming Eve brings brand-new stories rather than retelling episodes: six of them, four cards each, one for every member of the Mane Six.
- Twilight Sparkle's New Tradition (C25 to C28)
- Fluttershy and the Discord Dinner (C29 to C32)
- Pinkie Pie's Warm Gummy Welcome (C33 to C36)
- Applejack and the Very Fancy Feast (C37 to C40)
- Rainbow Dash and the Snowfall Showdown (C41 to C44)
- Style with Heart (C45 to C48)
Our favourite chapter title is "The Rock Soup Problem" from Pinkie Pie's story. We have questions. We want answers.
The rest of the cast
The pets finally get a proper invite: Owlowiscious, Angel, Gummy, Winona, Tank and Opal are all here at Uncommon, which makes Fluttershy's Gold Rare (it loves a discarded Pet) a lot more fun. Beyond the Mane Six and the Pillars, you'll also find Spike, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, Trixie, Spitfire, Lightning Dust, Granny Smith, Big McIntosh, Babs Seed, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Snips, Snails, Bulk Biceps, Ms. Harshwhinny and Ms. Peachbottom.
What to expect in a sealed box
Kayou's official spec sheet breaks the box down pack by pack. 6 of the 20 packs are base packs: Commons (or a Present token), two Uncommon or Sapphire Rare slots and an Emerald Rare. The other 14 are hit packs, each with a hit slot that can land anything up to a Shining Ruby Rare, plus an Emerald Rare or Shining Emerald Rare.
If it follows the pattern of Fantasy Wonderland, Discord and Nightmare Night (and the spec sheet suggests it does), every sealed box should land:
- 1 × Ruby Rare
- 1 × Shining Gold Rare
- 1 × Shining Emerald Rare
- 2 × Gold Rare
- 2 × Colorful Rare
- Around 7 Silver Rares
The big ones are rarer:
- Shining Sapphire Rare: about 1 in every 4 boxes
- Shining Colorful Rare: about 1 in every 8 boxes
- Shining Ruby Rare: 1 per sealed master case (32 boxes). The grail.
We'll update this once we've cracked our first case. The full breakdown for every set is in our My Little Pony TCG rarity and pull rate guide.
So what should you chase?
- Opening one box? Your Shining Gold Rare should be a Pillar, and there are six to find. Star Swirl or Mage Meadowbrook would be our dream pull.
- Building a set? The Shining Emerald scenes. Twelve cards across six scenes in Day and Night. Nobody finishes them by accident.
- Building a deck? Go for the Present engine. Twilight CR01 hands them out to your whole team and Fluttershy CR02 gets stronger every time one is opened. Both are available as singles.
- Pet lover? All six pets at Uncommon, plus Fluttershy GR02 to make them worth playing.
- Our sleeper pick: ※BP04-SPR25 Holder's Boulder. +2 Inspiration for every character that's had a Present. Items get less love than pony portraits, but this one powers your whole team.

Keep your pulls safe
Pulled something shiny? Straight into a penny sleeve, then a toploader or semi-rigid. Shining foils scratch if you look at them wrong, so tilt the card to see the effect instead of rubbing it. (We learned that one the hard way too.) A few booster packs and a toploader also make a pretty great stocking stuffer.
