My Little Pony Discord Edition Top Chase Cards (BP02)
Discord Edition (BP02) is the second set in the playable My Little Pony line and it runs on exactly the same make up as Fantasy Wonderland. 191 cards, 13 rarities, five Shining parallel tiers marked with a ※ symbol. If you learned to read BP01 codes you already know how to read these.
What changed is the cast, the artwork and one genuinely clever idea in the scene cards. Here is every chase card in the set, photographed from the English release.
The ※ symbol, quickly
A ※ in front of a card code means Shining: alternate artwork with an upgraded finish. Shining cards share their numbers with the ordinary version, so ※BP02-CR01 Twilight Sparkle and BP02-CR01 Twilight Sparkle are two different cards with the same code. The symbol on the card face is the only way to tell them apart.
BP02 carries 47 Shining cards in total across five tiers.

※ Shining Ruby Rare, the top chase
Six cards, one for each of the Mane Six, and the rarest tier in the set. The Ruby Rares carry no gameplay text at all, just full art in an ornate mirror frame with the artist's signature worked into the illustration. Each pony sees a chaos-touched reflection of themselves, a nod to Discord's influence over the set.

Six cards, and in BP01 this was the tier a sealed box guaranteed, which made it the trophy most openers walked away with. Heavy 3D foil stamping and premium textures. The BP02 run puts each of the Mane Six on an adventure alongside Daring Do.

Twelve cards. Six Equestrian locations, each printed in a Day and a Night variant, and this is the tier where BP02 does something genuinely interesting.
BP01's Emerald Rares gave you the outside of six locations: Golden Oak Library, Fluttershy's Cottage, Sugarcube Corner, Sweet Apple Acres, Cloudsdale and Carousel Boutique. BP02 takes you inside the same six buildings. Same places, interior views. A collector running both sets can pair every location exterior with its interior, and each of those in Day and Night.

One codes note: BP01's Emerald Rares carried SD01 prefixes because they continued the starter deck numbering. BP02 uses proper BP02-ER codes. If you are cataloguing both sets, that inconsistency is on Kayou rather than on you.
※ Shining Sapphire Rare
Eleven cards, and BP02 splits them differently to BP01. Where Series 1 gave Shining treatment only to Event cards, Series 2 extends it to three Item cards as well.

The Party Cannon and Fire Ruby are the two most recognisable objects in the show to get Shining treatment, which makes them worth watching.
Discord is the reason to open this set
None of the Shining tiers include him, but Discord's arrival is the headline of BP02 all the same. He appears at Silver Rare (BP02-SR08), twice at Uncommon (U17 and U18) and once at Common (C18). The first time the spirit of chaos has been buildable into a deck.
The set also brings in Daring Do, Philomena and Big McIntosh at Silver Rare, and gives the Cutie Mark Crusaders a proper run across Silver Rare, Uncommon and Common.
BP02 is Season 2
The 24 story cards move a full season forward. BP01 covered Season 1 episodes. BP02 covers Lesson Zero, Hurricane Fluttershy, Baby Cakes, The Last Roundup, May the Best Pet Win and Sweet and Elite, four cards to each episode.
If Kayou keeps this pattern, a third set should bring Season 3.
Which chase should you go for?
Opening one box: the ※GR is your realistic trophy. Six cards, no way to choose which.
Building a set: the ※ER pairs. Twelve cards, and completing a Day and Night pair for a single location is an achievement most casual openers never finish.
Already own BP01: the ※ER tier again, for a different reason. Pairing interiors with exteriors gives you a display nobody who owns only one set can build.
The sleeper: ※BP02-SPR24 Party Cannon. Item cards get less attention than pony portraits and only three Items in the entire set received Shining treatment.

Protecting a chase pull
Penny sleeve first, then a toploader or semi-rigid holder. Shining foils scratch easily so tilt the card to see the effect rather than running a thumb across the face. Semi-rigid holders are what PSA and CGC want for submission.

How many chase cards are in Discord Edition? 47 Shining cards across five tiers: six ※RR, six ※GR, twelve ※CR, twelve ※ER and eleven ※SPR.
What is the rarest card in BP02? The ※ Shining Ruby Rares. Kayou has not published BP02 pull rates yet, but in BP01 the equivalent tier appeared roughly once per sealed master case.
Is Discord a chase card? Not in the Shining tiers. He appears at Silver Rare, Uncommon and Common, which makes him accessible rather than rare, and playable in a deck.
Do BP01 and BP02 cards work together? Yes. Same game, same ruleset. The Emerald Rare scene cards are designed to complement each other, with BP01 covering location exteriors and BP02 the interiors.
