The two lines in one paragraph
Fantasy Wonderland (series 1) is a playable trading card game with a full ruleset, deck construction and competitive starter decks.
Discord (series 2) is now available which is the second set of the TCG
Moon Edition is a pure collectibles line with no gameplay at all. You open packs and chase rarities. Both are officially licensed by Hasbro and both are printed to the same high standard.
Fantasy Wonderland
Series 1 Fantasy Wonderland Booster Box (BP01)
20 packs of 5 cards. The set runs 191 cards across 13 rarities: Common, Uncommon, Silver Rare, Sapphire Rare, Emerald Rare, Colorful Rare, Ruby Rare and Gold Rare, plus five Shining parallel tiers marked with a ※ symbol. Every pack contains a scene card so the floor is high. A sealed box guarantees a Shining Gold Rare, a Ruby Rare and a Shining Emerald Rare.

Series 1 Fantasy Wonderland Booster Pack
A single 5 card pack. The cheapest way into the entire My Little Pony range and enough to judge the card quality before committing to a box.
Friendships Begin Starter Deck Set of 6
Six preconstructed decks, one built around each of the Mane Six. Every deck contains a 50 card Main Deck, a 15 card Scene Deck, a Main Character Card, four Story Cards and a printed rules sheet as well as 3 unique booster packs. Ready to play out of the box. Individual decks are available separately if you only want one character.
Series 2 Discord Edition Booster Box (BP02)
The second set in the playable line, and it mirrors BP01 exactly: 191 cards across the same 13 rarities, with the same five Shining parallel tiers. If you know how to read a BP01 card code you already know how to read BP02.
What changes is everything inside that structure. Discord joins as a playable character at Silver Rare, Uncommon and Common, which is the first time the spirit of chaos has been buildable. The Cutie Mark Crusaders get a proper run of cards, and Daring Do, Philomena and Big McIntosh all arrive at Silver Rare.
The story cards move a full season forward, covering Lesson Zero, Hurricane Fluttershy, Baby Cakes, The Last Roundup, May the Best Pet Win and Sweet and Elite. If BP01 was Season 1, BP02 is Season 2.
The neatest touch is in the Emerald Rare scene cards. BP01 gave you the exteriors: Golden Oak Library, Fluttershy's Cottage, Sugarcube Corner. BP02 takes you inside the same six locations. Golden Oak Library Floor 2, the living room of Fluttershy's Cottage, the storefront of Sugarcube Corner. Collectors running both sets can pair them up.

Moon Edition products
Moon Edition sits within the Friendship Eternal line. Four English series so far, each with its own rarity ceiling and each running 10 packs per box. The tiers climb through Rare, Super Rare, Holo Rare, Ultra Rare, Super Secret Rare, Super Golden Rare, Luminous Secret Rare and at the very top the Zenith Rare.
English Series 1
The foundation set. Classic Ponyville cast with clean artwork, 10 packs per box. Secret Rare is the ceiling here because Kayou had not yet introduced the Zenith tier.
English Series 2
Wider character roster with better foil treatments, 10 packs per box. This is the set that introduced the Zenith tier, headlined by a single Shining Celebration card in a 189 card set.
Series 3, 15th Anniversary Edition
Released for 15 years of Friendship is Magic. The largest Moon Edition set at 290 cards across 10 rarity levels with anniversary artwork throughout, 10 packs per box. Three Zenith cards rather than one, so the top tier is marginally more reachable.
Series 4, First Print Edition
The current release, 10 packs per box. Every card in the initial production run carries a First Print logo, as does the outer box. There are no First Print reprints, so an ordinary card from this run is scarcer than the same card from any later printing. Worth buying sealed if you collect rather than open.
Sleeved Premium Packs
Single packs with a guaranteed high rarity structure, for anyone who wants a taste of Moon Edition without a full box. Eight cards per pack with a minimum of one Super Rare, one Holo Rare, one Super Secret Rare and three Rares.

Rainbow Edition Display Box
20 packs of 5 cards plus an exclusive promo card, MLPME-PR-003, which is not available in any other product. A limited display run. Set completionists will want it for the promo alone.
Which product should you buy first?
Smallest possible commitment: a single Fantasy Wonderland booster pack. Five cards, guaranteed scene card and enough to judge whether the print quality is worth your money.
Best value box: the Fantasy Wonderland booster box. Twenty packs with three guaranteed premium pulls, which is a higher floor than any other product here.
Best for a rarity chase: Moon Edition Series 3. The biggest set with the most generous high tier slot structure.
Most time sensitive: Moon Edition Series 4 First Print. Once the initial run sells through there are no further First Print printings.
If you already own BP01: the Discord Edition. Same structure you know with a new cast and the interior scene cards that pair with your Series 1 exteriors.
If you want to play with friends: the Friendships Begin starter deck set. Six competitive decks in one box.
