My Little Pony TCG Rarity & Pull Rate Guide: Fantasy Wonderland (BP01) & Discord Edition (BP02)
If you open the playable My Little Pony TCG (Fantasy Wonderland BP01 or Discord Edition BP02), this is the only rarity chart you need. Both sets share one rarity system and one set of pull rates, published by Kayou for the English booster boxes. Below is every tier, every ratio, and exactly what a sealed box and a sealed master case guarantee you.
BP01 and BP02 use the same system
The two playable sets are built identically:
- 191 cards, 13 rarities, five Shining (※) parallel tiers
- 20 packs per box, 5 cards per pack
- 640 packs per master case (32 boxes)
Because the structure is the same, the pull rates below apply to both the Fantasy Wonderland and Discord Edition English booster boxes. Learn one and you know the other.
How to read a card code: the ※ (Shining) symbol
Every card carries a rarity code (e.g. BP01-CR01). The mark that matters most is:
※ = Shining. Alternate artwork with an upgraded foil finish. These are the true chase cards.
Key quirk: a Shining card shares its number with the ordinary version. ※BP01-CR01 Twilight Sparkle and BP01-CR01 Twilight Sparkle are two different cards with the same code. The ※ on the card face is the only way to tell them apart.

Note the Shining order isn't what you'd guess: Shining Colorful (CR※) is rarer than Shining Gold (GR※), and Shining Ruby (RR※) sits at the very top.

What every sealed box guarantees
From the starred (*) rows, a single sealed box always contains at least:
- 40 × Common
- 20 × Uncommon / Sapphire Rare
- ~19 × Emerald Rare
- ~7 × Silver Rare
- ~2 × Gold Rare (GR)
- ~2 × Colorful Rare (CR)
- 1 × Ruby Rare (RR)
- 1 × Shining Gold Rare (GR※)
- 1 × Shining Emerald Rare (ER※)
So no BP01 or BP02 box is ever a "dead" box. A Shining Gold and a Shining Emerald are locked in every time.
Across a sealed master case (32 boxes / 640 packs) you're additionally guaranteed: 8 × Shining Sapphire (SPR※), 4 × Shining Colorful (CR※), and 1 × Shining Ruby Rare (RR※).
Every rarity, starring Fluttershy
Full disclosure: we could have used thirteen different ponies to show off the thirteen rarities. We did not. Every single card below is Fluttershy, because she is the best pony and this is our guide. Consider it a complete BP01 rarity ladder that also happens to be a Fluttershy shrine. You're welcome.
Here is exactly what each tier looks like, from the card in every pack to the one you'll find once per sealed case.
Common (C) · BP01-C04
Forty in every box. Where every Fluttershy collection begins.
Uncommon (U) · BP01-U04
A small step up, still one of the easiest pulls in the set.
Sapphire Rare (SPR) · BP01-SPR17 · "Attend to Cure"
The Event-card side of the base line.
Emerald Rare (ER) · SD01-ER08 · "Ponyville Suburb"
A Scene card, roughly one per pack. Note the SD01 code: BP01's Emerald Rares carry the starter-deck numbering.
Silver Rare (SR) · BP01-SR02
About seven per box.
Gold Rare (GR) · BP01-GR02
Around two per box. The nap-with-the-critters art is peak Fluttershy.
Colorful Rare (CR) · BP01-CR02
Around two per box, full effect text.
Ruby Rare (RR) · BP01-RR02
One guaranteed per box. Full-art, no game text, artist signature.

About one per 8 boxes, so rarer than Shining Gold.

The top chase, one per sealed master case. And yes, she's still Fluttershy.
The chase tiers, ranked
RR※, Shining Ruby Rare (the top chase). 1 : 640 packs, so one per sealed master case, and you don't get to choose which of the six you find. The rarest cards in the set.
CR※, Shining Colorful Rare. 1 : 160 packs, about one per 8 boxes. The most achievable complete Shining tier for set-builders, but a long project.
SPR※, Shining Sapphire Rare. 1 : 80 packs, about one per 4 boxes.
GR※ & ER※, Shining Gold and Shining Emerald. 1 : 20 packs, one of each guaranteed in every box. The trophy most single-box openers walk away with.
BP01 vs BP02: same odds, different chase
The pull rates are identical. What changes between the sets is the cast, the art and the scene mechanic:
- BP01 Fantasy Wonderland: Season 1 cast. Six full-art ※ Shining Ruby Rares of the Mane Six; Emerald Rare scene cards show location exteriors.
- BP02 Discord Edition: Season 2 cast, Discord joins as a playable character. 47 Shining cards total, with the Gold Rare run pairing the Mane Six with Daring Do, and Emerald Rare scene cards showing the interiors of the same six locations (so they pair with BP01's exteriors).

Which chase should you go for?
- Opening one box? Your GR※ and ER※ are guaranteed, so those are your trophies.
- Building a set? The twelve CR※ (1 per 8 boxes) is the most realistic complete Shining tier.
- Breaking a case? The RR※ is the whole reason to do it: one guaranteed per master case, six possibilities.

Protecting a chase pull
Penny sleeve straight away, then a toploader or semi-rigid holder. Shining foils scratch easily, so tilt the card to see the effect rather than running a thumb across the face. Submitting to PSA or CGC? Semi-rigid holders are what graders want.
